Those passengers plying the waters between Victoria and Seattle now have a new high-speed fast ferry to get them where they're going. The Clipper V will be making its debut next week.
The Victoria Clipper V (5) launches next Friday, the first upgrade made by the company since 1994.
The Clipper V is a 52-meter, high-speed catamaran that carries 440 passengers and can travel at speeds up to 36 knots. Prior to arriving in the Pacific Northwest, the vessel operated in the North Sea. It was placed on a heavylift carrier and transferred over 10,000 miles from Germany to Victoria.
One of the new features of the Clipper is a Comfort Class option for passengers that offers priority boarding, a spacious private cabin area as well as complimentary snacks and refreshments.
Clipper Vacations operates three high-speed vessels between Victoria, Seattle and Friday Harbour.
