Residents across the region really do stop and smell the flowers!
The 44th annual of the Greater Victoria Flower Count ended Wednesday, with more than 44.5-billion blossoms counted over the weeklong event.
The winner of “Bloomingest” community this year was Victoria -- with grand total of more than 19.9-billion flowers counted.
With that win, Victoria breaks Colwood’s 5-year winning streak. TheSaanich snagged second place this year, with a head count of more than 14.5-billion blossoms.
The winning elementary school class is Ms. Lesley Mill’s class at Cordova Bay Elementary School in Saanich.
The kids counted more than 13.1-billion blooms. Their prize is a trip from L.A. Limousines - to see more flowers - at The Butchart Gardens.
