The search for a missing senior in Greater Victoria has ended.
93-year-old Virginia Leoung has been found alive and is in hospital after being unaccounted for over 24 hours.
A passerby spotted her in the 1900 block of Meadow Vale drive in View Royal at 1:30pm on Tuesday and alerted authorities.
Police searched the Gorge with a helicopter and a search and rescue team, desperately-- even asking residents around the Gorge to search their backyards and out buildings for Leong.
“VicPD would like to thank members of the Military Police, Metchosin Ground Search and Rescue Team, Peninsula Emergency Measures Organization, Victoria Fire Department, Saanich Fire Department, Westshore & BC RCMP and Saanich Police, all who assisted in searching for Virginia,” said a police release.
She was reported missing early Monday after she went for a walk in Esquimalt early in the morning.
Her condition is unknown at this point.
