That was the final total after a 13-hour broadcast that featured stories from donors and recipients, musical performances and special guests and Victoria born celebrities like David Foster, who donated $10,000.
The annual fundraiser is the major source of funding for the charity, committed to feeding 1,200 families through the Christmas break and to providing two gifts for each child in the family.
