RCMP from several units raided a Devil's Army Clubhouse in Campbell River this morning in connection with the homicide of a Saanich man.
Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton is with the Combined Special Forces Enforcement unit of BC in Surrey:
" This morning investigators with the Combined Forces Special Enforcement unit of British Columbia and the Vancouver Island Integrated major crime unit, with support from numerous Vancouver Island RCMP and municipal police specialty units executed a search warrant on the Campbell River Devil's Army Clubhouse in connection to the March 201`6 homicide of John Dillon Brown ."
Brown was a 30 year old Saanich resident, and a Mixed Martial Arts fighter. He was found dead inside his car near Sayward on Mar. 12, 2016. He had no known ties to gangs. The death was ruled a homicide, although no cause has been released. It was also deemed a targeted death.
Houghton says investigation led to the Clubhouse. Officers are still on scene, and anticipate being there for several days. No one was at the clubhouse at the time of the raid, and investigators are not looking for anyone at this time.
