VicPD say a man was arrested and a replica firearm seized after an incident which forced the closure of the Johnson Street Bridge last night.
Officers were called to a residential building in the 500-block of Johnson Street just before 9 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man with a gun. Several people reported seeing the man waving a handgun out the building window.
VicPD decided to close down several nearby streets to vehicle and pedestrian traffic as a precaution, and that included the Johnson Street Bridge.
Shortly afterwards they took the man into custody a short time later, and seized a replica firearm.
Charges of assault with a weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon are being recommended. The man was released on a promise to appear.
