Highway 1 on Vancouver Island Both directions closed in both directions from Malahat Summit to Exit to Bamberton, South of Mill Bay 4.3 km because of Vehicle Incident Thursday 530
BC Ambulance had to be scrambled to the scene of a major T-bone collision on the Malahat. Traffic shut down in both directions. Rob Patterson, Malahat Fire Chief, calls the incident major and says two vehicles were involved in the collision which stopped traffic on the Malahat near McCurdy Dr. Highway not expected to open for next 4-6 hours or approximately 10pm.
