The old Johnson Street Bridge has re-opened to all traffic. On Sunday, dozens of Victorians braved the rain to watch the new bridge span installation. Wind postponed the lift on Saturday.
The 46 meters long, 470 ton span of the new Johnson Street Bridge is now in place, with crews are still putting finishing touches on the installation.
The old bridge remained closed until just after 5 Monday afternoon.
It will still be awhile before anyone is able to cross the new span. It's scheduled to open to traffic in March, with the old bridge remaining in use until then.
