The first court appearance of a man charged in the death of a West Shore police constable has been delayed.
Kenneth Jacob Fenton was scheduled to make his initial appearance in a Colwood courtroom tomorrow on charges that include impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death, and flight from police causing death.
Thirty-two year old RCMP constable Sarah Beckett was killed on April 5 when her police cruiser was hit at the intersection of Peatt Road and Goldstream Avenue. Fenton was taken into custody at the scene, but charges weren't announced until last month.
Fenton's first appearance has now been pushed back to November 24 to allow the defence further time to review Crown submissions.
