A man who drove impaired to the Victoria police station to report a theft, was placed on a 24-hour prohibition and his vehicle impounded.
Victoria Police noticed signs of impairment when the man showed up the station on the morning of Saturday August 11, to report his passport and cell phone stolen.
Victoria Police report 46 drivers, impaired by either alcohol or drugs, were removed from roads in July.
According to ICBC, impairment remains one of the top contributing factors for fatal car crashes.
