Oak Bay Fire responded to a fully engaged house fire in the 900 Block of Transit Road. Erin Layfield with the Oak Bay Fire department says "Police and emergency crews managed to save the homeowner and the pets, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The fire started around 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The block was closed to traffic while the investigation is underway.
