An ongoing historical sexual assault investigation generated by VicPD has prompted the Nakusp RCMP to start canvassing their community for possible victims in the Nakusp/East Kootenay area.
It was one year ago VicPd arrested Harry Charles Sadd in connection with a series of alleged sexual assaults which took place from the mid-60s and onwards to the 70s.
Cpl. Dan Moskaluk of the South East District RCMP says Sadd also lived in the Naksup area, and there is reason to believe there may be people who need to come forward to report what happened to them:
"We've confirmed through the investigational findings by Victoria, is that Harry Charles Sadd resided in Naksup in the mid-60s and unto the mids-70s, and it's possible he may have targeted young males in thre Naksup area, or Kootenay area as well."
Sadd, who was a former youth badminton coach, has previous convictions for sexual assaults involving young male children and teens. He currently faces 23 counts of indecent assault by a male on a male person, and one count of Sexual assault, whereas 12 victims have come forward to date.
