Firefighters in Langford have rescued a hiker who slipped and fell down an embankment while hiking in Bear Mountain.
The rescue team had to carry the man out of the woods after he injured his ankle and was unable to walk.
Ken Benedict with Langford Fire and Rescue says it was lucky the hiker had help to get out of a tight spot."Be prepared. Cell Phones always good idea proper footwear, this isn't typically a sneakers type hike it's generally much more involved than that."
The hiker has minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
