Funerals services for 2 young sisters found murdered Christmas Day in their father's Oak Bay apartment attracted more than 1,000 mourners to the Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria Friday. The service was attended by family members, teachers, classmates and family friends.
The ashes of 6 year old Chloe and 4 year old Aubrey were contained in a single urn, which was covered with butterflies. According to Rev. Ansley Tucker butterflies a symbol of resurrection. Rev. Tucker says the tragedy has left people asking where God was on Christmas day.
Their father, Andrew Berry, is facing charges of second degree murder.
As church bells rang out, a friend of the family, Trisha Lees, told media she would like the girls to be remembered with great joy because that's how they made others feel.
