The Victoria Fire Department is mourning the passing of a former Chief.
The department tweeted out news on Friday saying Doug Angrove passed away from brain cancer.
Current Fire Chief Paul Bruce was Angrove's Deputy Chief during his five years as the Chief in Victoria.
“He did his best to lead our department during some challenging times and did a good job of it I think.”
Bruce says Angrove helped to determine that the department needed a new fire station instead of continuously putting money into an old station which needing countless upgrades.
Angrove spent 32 years a fire-fighter, seven as part of the Victoria Fire Department before he retired in 2011.
