B-C residents are being urged by Health Minister Terry Lake, to get a flu shot in advance of this year's potentially more aggressive H-3-N-2 strain of the respiratory virus.
“The strain we’re looking at, we’ve already seen outbreaks at 5 or 6 health care facilities and it is a strain that affects older people.”
Lake says vaccinations are free for patients at risk of complications from flu such as children under five, seniors, pregnant women, aboriginals and also for regular visitors to long-term care facilities and hospitals.
