The Victoria Fire Department dealt with several vehicles and a nearby building on fire early Monday morning.
It happened in the 600 block of Dunedin, between Gorge Road East and Douglas.
When the fire trucks arrived around 3 o'clock, crews found several vehicles fully engulfed in flames in a courtyard. A nearby building was catching fire as well. Crews used ladders to get up on the roof to try and put out the fire in the building but they discovered it had spread to the interior. The fire fighters needed to strip away walls and ceilings to extinguish hot spots.
The fire department estimates that $230-thousand dollars in damage was done to the structure and vehicles. Nobody was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
