It's Family Day across British Columbia!
Despite the chilly temperature, for many Victorians, it means a holiday to making warm memories with loved ones.
The Royal BC Museum is open from 10 til 5 Monday -- and admission is free. Upwards of 10-thousand people are expected.
Janet MacDonald, Head of Learning for the Museum, says the 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' exhibit is a must-see
"It's an annual favorite here. It's a collection of 100 nature photographs from the Museum of Nature in London, England."
Family Day In Saanich
The Arts Centre at Cedar Hill The Family Day event from 11 to 3pm Monday highlighting a variety of performances and hands-on arts activities featuring the Greater Victoria's arts community.
Brenda Weatherston, Saanich Parks and Recreation spokesperson, says it's a multi-cultural theme:
"The studios will have over 25 hands-on activities; you can try printmaking, puppetmaking, maskmaking pottery and ceramics. We'll have dance and music and magic shows as well.'
The G.R. Pearkes Arena celebrates Family Day with a free skate Monday afternoon from 2:15pm to 4:15pm.
There will be a celebratory cake too. The Pearkes Arena first opened it's doors to hockey and skating 50 years ago.
