An eco-forestry expert with over 40 years experience will speak tomorrow night at the University of Victoria.
Herb Hammond will share his knowledge of options for the industrial forestry model, that he believes is failing ecosystems and communities across BC.
The event will be held on the same day as the annual general meeting of the Association of BC Forest Professionals' (ABCFP), which represents the largest group of forestry professionals in Canada.
The majority of original old-growth forests across British Columbia have been logged, and many forest ecosystems are now threatened.
At the same time, BC's forest industry has lost jobs at a rate of six per day, for at least 10 years.
