VicPd looking for witnesses to a grey BMW driving wrong way on Yates between Douglas and Blanshard Monday AM
Victoria police are asking for witnesses to come forward after an early morning crash led to the seizure of cannibis destined for a marijuana dispensary.
The incident began when officers spotted the vehicle running a red light at View and Douglas. The driver took off and the car struck another vehicle a short distance away. The driver of the second car was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police found the driver of the suspect car not far from the accident scene -- attempting to hide 2 large boxes of marijuana. Investigators determined the marijuana was destined for an unnamed cannabis shop.
Police are recommending several charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.
No name has been released yet.
VicPd want to speak to anyone who saw a newer, grey BMW driving the wrong way on Yates Street between Douglas and Blanshard streets between 8:30-9:00 a.m. Monday.
