The construction tender has now gone out to extend the northbound bus lane along the busy Douglas Street Corridor from Tolmie Avenue to the Interurban/Burnside overpass (Hwy1).
The Province's tender for the northbound bus lane follows the City of Victoria issuing its tender for the southbound priority bus and bike lane along Douglas Street from Tolmie to Hillside.
Bids for both a southbound and northbound bus lane extension had been put on hold after coming in about 30 per cent over budget.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says the tender is now posted with targeted completion for fall 2018 and an estimated project cost of $12.75 million.
