West Shore RCMP confirm the death of a dog in a hot car in Langford Monday.
West Shore RCMP say they were called to the 2700-block of Veterans Memorial Parkway at about 6pm where a woman was trying to revive her dog in a parking lot.
The woman was visibly upset, and was being comforted by those around her. The dog -- a small terrier -- had allegedly left in car for several hours, exposed to the heat.
Cnst. Matt Baker says while they empathize with the woman, they hope the tragedy will be a reminder to other pet owners of the importance of leaving your pets at home when and wherever possible.
The woman is cooperating with police. No charges have currently been laid.
