Elections BC has extended the deadline for getting your electoral reform ballots in by 1 week.
The new deadline for getting ballots in is now 4:30pm on Friday, December the 7th.
Director of Communications Andrew Watson, says the decision was made after discussion with Canada Post:
" We've been working closely with Canada Post to understand the full impact that the rotating strikes have had on the referendum process, and we wanted to make this extension to make sure that voters weren't prevented from participating through no fault of their own. So the basis of the extension is really to ensure accessibility to the referendum process, and to ensure that voters are able to participate despite the job action at Canada Post."
Meantime the deadline to request a voting package remains midnight tonight for eligible voters.
You can request on online until midnight at ElectionsBC.ca or you can call the contact centre which will be open until midnight at 1-800-661-8683. You can also go to any Referendum Service Office or Service BC Centre during office hours before closiong today (Friday, Nov. 23).
