Anyone interested in a job picking flowers?
The mild rainy weather on the southern island has created a budding problem for a local farm in Central Saanich.
Longview Farms is scrambling because the blooms have popped up early.
General manager Ryan Vantreight says they're now rushing to hire workers:
"The warm temperatures and rain has given the flowers a head start. We're about two to three weeks ahead of schedule for picking. I can probably hire about 20 people to work the fields right now."
Vantreight says the daffodils are destined for local markets as well as the U.S. cancer campaign.
