Four people were sent to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the Pat Bay Highway Thursday afternoon. The highway was closed for several hours.
Emergency crews responded to the scene on the highway 17 at East Saanich Road at around 1 p.m.
Central Saanich Police say a vehicle was driving full-speed down the Pat Bay Highway when it crashed into another vehicle. That led to a chain-reaction crash with two other vehicles.
Four drivers were taken to hospital. Their current conditions are unknown.
The highway was cleared and reopened in both directions as of 5 p.m., but Drive BC said that traffic congestion would still cause delays.
