After motorists experienced more significant delays on the Malahat again this weekend, an M.L.A. is speaking out.
Sonia Ferstenau, Green MLA for Cowichan Valley says it's clear something more needs to be done.
“We can’t spend two hours in our cars trying to get home from work every day.”
Ferstenau says she will be in contact with the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure in Claire Trevena to work out a solution to the construction problems early this week.
“Meet with her and get a sense of what she is hearing from the contracting company and from MOTI and really start finding some solutions.”
Last week the Ministry said they would take steps to alleviate the traffic flow problems on the Malahat but it's clear those steps aren't working as well as they would have hoped.
The Malahat improvement construction project isn't expected to finished until August of next of year.
