A Colwood Councillor in a battle with her own municipality was arrested Wednesday.
Cynthia Day has been battling over removal of trees and shrubs she planted 23 years ago, and a rock wall she and her husband put in on municipal property. Day says the wall was built with a permit.
When crews arrived to remove the wall today she refused to move, and was arrested:
"I was informed by the RCMP that if I didn't remove myself from their work zone that they would have to arrest me. And I did exercise my right to defend my property, and was in fact arrested briefly."
Day was arrested for mischief, but released on her own recognizance after promising not to re-enter the work area.
She says her next step may be taking the municipality to court.
