A ceremonial concrete pour Thursday marked the restart of construction at Colwood Corners.
The new owner, Onni Group, has begun the first phase of their development project, which will include six new buildings with more than 400 apartments as well as commercial space.
The development at the corner Sooke and Jerome Roads is just the latest chapter in a long story.
"There was supposed to ribbon cutting back in 2014 and we didn't get to there." Colwood Mayor Carol Hamilton says it'll be good for the community to see life at the site, "it's been challenging from a community stand point because this is a major centre. We've long identified it in our plans and to see it languish has been a struggle."
The previous developer - League Assets - went bankrupt in 2015.
