The woman who has led the Capital Regional District's Wastewater Treatment Board since 2016 has handed in her resignation, which means the CRD is searching for a replacement.
Jane Bird on a new position as a board members with the Canada Infrastructure Bank, a federal Crown corporation which will fund projects across the country. As such, she is not allowed to work for a local government.
Until the CRD finds a replacement Vice Chair Don Fairbairn will move up to chair the wastewater board.
The board is directing construction of Greater Victoria's $765-million wastewater treatment system.
