CFB Esquimalt is raising concern about trespassers and unauthorized use of the Nanaimo Rifle Range property.
In a release naval officials say there is no safe time to be within the boundaries of the range as it's used for live fire training during the day, at night and throughout the weekends.
Recently there has been a significant increase in trespassing, evidence of vandalism, including the removal of markers, signs and the destruction of fencing, and prohibited use of firearms.
Some of the incidents have prompted immediate suspension of firing and, at times, resulted in temporary range closures.
CFB Esquimalt's Captain Jason Boyd emphsizes trespassing is both dangerous, and against the law.
