A fire at the oldest Brew Pub in the country is now out but fire crews say they will be on the scene watching for flare up for much of the night. Fire Investigator Brad Siefert tells CTV Vancouver Island they’ll be back on the scene tomorrow but the blaze likely started on the second floor. “There’s a lot of damage, the back half of the roof is totally torn off. I can say the fire was probably started on the second floor in the fireplace.” In spite of the damage the structure itself is still standing and may well be saved after repairs. Siefert says crews and Spinnaker staff did an excellent job getting everyone out to the building with no injuries but it could be a while before the Pub is pouring pints again.
