All open fires -- including campfires -- will be banned across nearly the entire the Coastal Fire Centre starting tomorrow.
The only exceptions are Haida Gwaii and the fog zone, a thin strip along the western edge of Vancouver Island.
The B-C Wildfire Service says the ban is being implemented due to extremely dry conditions in the region, which covers the entire south and central coasts and extends east to Manning Provincial Park and north to Tweedsmuir Provincial Park.
The Wildfire Service says there are currently 30 active blazes burning across the province -- half of which have broken out since July 1st.
