CRD Integrated Water Services and Island Health are advising residents who get their water from the Wilderness Mountain Water System to boil their drinking water until further notice.
That water system provides drinking water to residents of East Sooke.
The advisory is being issued because the Chlorine disinfection at the Water Treatment Plant was interrupted. Crews are on site working on a solution. Meantime -- UV disinfection was maintained throughout.
Officials recommend boiling household tap water vigorously for 1 minute to disinfect it.
The advisory will remain in effect until Island Health is satisfied that the drinking water no longer poses a health concern.
