An early morning protest stopped travel through the Swartz Bay ferry terminal in North Saanich for nearly 3 hours
About 45 protestors in support of Wet'suwet'en First Nations fight against Coastal GasLink's pipeline blocked access to the terminal.
In an email, organizers say BC Ferries was targeted because of the corporation's "deepening integration with the Liquified Natural Gas industry".
BC Ferries CEO and President Mark Collins says the Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen 7am sailing was held at the dock, the was word kayakers may have been in the water near the vessels.
