BC Ferries passengers will soon have the option to buy beer and wine aboard some vessels come summer.
The company plans to add beer and wine to the buffet menu on three vessels travelling between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen.
BC Ferries spokesperson Deborah Marshall confirmed to CFAX-1070 that the pilot project is in the works.
"We've selected the Pacific Buffet for this pilot. It meets the requirements for the Food Primary Licence." said Marshall. "The space is controlled, there are washrooms onsite and our staff can monitor the situation."
Marshall says there would be a two-drink maximum per passenger.
BC Ferries on the Port Hardy to Prince Rupert routes already offer alcohol in their dining rooms.
