A 72 hour strike notice has been issued by the British Columbia General Employees Union.
Union members voted almost 93 percent in favour of strike action and actions could begin on Tuesday at 12:01 am.
The union seeking a four per cent general wage increase in the first year and 4.25 per cent in the second year.
Acting Deputy Premier MIke Farnworth says key areas will be protected in the event of a strike.
