At its peak, the snow storm resulted in up to 75,000 South Vancouver Island residents left without power, and by the end of the afternoon there were just over 11,000 hydro customers without their electricity.
BC Hydro's Community Relations Manager for the region,Ted Olynyk, says all outages have been related to trees falling on power lines.
Olynyk says crews were working throughout the day to restore power and most will have their power back on by Tuesday evening, while some may be waiting until early Wednesday.
"Some will be pretty easy to fix, just trees and branches on lines, others may see a number of trees on spans of lines and that will take longer to repair.
Olynyk says crews were brought in from the Lower Mainland to help with the work around Vancouver Island.
