BC Ferries is apologizing for overcharging passenger's who took the 7 a.m. Swartz Bay to Tswassen Ferry Friday morning.
Spokesperson Deborah Marshall says the discounted fare was not properly programmed into the computer system at Swartz Bay. "Because it's a promotional fare apparently it wasn't loaded into the system properly, it was a computer glitch."
The 7 a.m. sailing has been promoted as part of the sunrise to sunset savings promotions and is discounted by BC Ferries.
Marshall says anyone who was on the sailing is entitled to a $14.00 refund and you're asked to contact BC Ferries customer service. "If customers want to give us a call, we want to rectify the situation and give them the refund their entitled to."
Typical fare is $73.00 and the $59 discount fare on the early Friday sailing wasn't properly programmed into the system at Swartz Bay.
