Batten down the hatches, BC Ferries has cancelled all sailings that cross the Strait of Georgia due to severe winds.
All sailings after 3 PM have been impacted. Spokesperson Deb Marshall says, high winds lashing the south coast have cancelled service between Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay, Tsawassen-Duke Point, Tsawwassen-Southern Gulf Islands and Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay. Marshall says it's unlikely service will resume tonight.
The strong winds are expected to gradually weaken overnight as a low pressure system moves across northwestern Vancouver Island.
