There's been an arrest in connection to a suspicious fire last Tuesday night that destroyed a trailer and caused serious damage to another in the Park Meadows Trailer Park in the 1500 block of Middle Road on the Songhees Reserve in View Royal.
West Shore RCMP have arrested and charged 49 year old Gary Lee Nelms.
Nelms appeared in Colwood Provincial Court Monday and has been charged with uttering threats, and arson with disregard for human life.
Four people from the 2 destroyed trailers have been displaced.
Cpl. Chris Dovell says it's fortunate there was no loss of life resulting from the blaze, crediting a smoke alarm with saving lives.
West Shore RCMP's serious crime unit are leading the investigation.
