Shawnigan Lake RCMP says vehicle lost control and hit a hydro pole
Shawnigan Lake RCMP say a 9 year old child has died of injuries suffered in a single vehicle accident on Shawnigan Lake Rd near Sooke Lake Rd. at 8 am Sunday morning.
The child was a passenger in a north bound vehicle that lost control and struck a hydro pole. RCMP say the preliminary indication is that speed may have been a factor.
The child suffered serious injuries, and later died. The 49-year-old driver sustained minor injuries. No names have been released.
