VicPd are confirming a 39 year old Saanich man is facing 4 charges of sexual assault as well as 4 counts of sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.
Detectives with the Investigative Services Division’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) arrested Amado Ceniza following investigation into alleged sexual assaults at a residential care facility located in the 1400-block of Hillside Avenue where he worked as a care aide. CTV Vancouver Island has learned the facility is the Aberdeen Hospital, which cares for seniors and the disabled.
As soon as the allegations surfaced Ceniza was suspended and the allegations reported to police.
Investigators have identified and spoken with 3 victims, but suspect there could be more, and are appealing for them to come forward. They also want witnesses to any interactions between Ceniza and patients that were inappropriate to report it.
Ceniza has appeared before a Judicial Justice of the Peace and was released on bail with the following conditions:
He may not be within a 200 meter radius of the hospital; He is not to be alone in the presence of anyone in a vulnerable population, including the elderly, anyone under the age of 18 year, or anyone who is physically or mentally disabled; He must report to a bail supervisor and advise of changes of employment or residence:
None of the charges has been proven in court.
