A 27-year Nanaimo man has now been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in that city last Saturday (March 31).
Matthew Dean Tremblay was charged with attempted murder during a Provincial Court appearance. He has also been charged with aggravated assault.
Officers were called to a townhouse complex on Fifth Street early Saturday morning where they found a 25 year old man suffering what they called "serious life-threatening stab wounds."
He is recovering in hospital and is expected to remain there for at least another week.
Tremblay was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is April 17th by way of video-conferencing.
