If you were one of those caught in the traffic nightmare heading into Victoria from the Trans Canada Friday morning, take heart. The Ministry of Transportation says the issue has been fixed.
Things got extremely backed up for the morning commute when the McKenzie intersection lights weren't working. They were flashing red.
Traffic control crews were deployed to help direct motorists while electricians corrected the issue.
The problem was triggered as crews were working to relocate temporary signal poles, part of accommodating construction of the north abutment wing wall.
But the work caused disruption to the signal at the McKenzie and Highway 1 intersection, which was fixed before noon.
