Westshore RCMP are looking to speak with an elderly man who is believed to have sprayed a dog with a chemical irritant.
Police say on May 29 a man encountered an elderly cyclist on the Galloping Goose in Metchosin and began filming the elderly cyclist when they got into a heated argument.
The man filming says the cyclist was carrying what looked like a chemical irritant - which he believes he saw being sprayed at a dog when cycling away.
The cyclist is described as being between 70-75 years old, Caucasian, white hair, between 5 foot 5 and five 10, riding an orange road style bike and wearing a red and black helmet and yellow and green shirt.
Our investigation is still open. We want to talk to the man to get his side of the story. There is a reason he did what he did and we don’t want to jump to conclusions. Only he knows why he did what he did that day, constable Matt Baker, spokesman of the West Shore RCMP.
