Spring is in the air, and maternal animals are protecting their young. That goes for crows. Aggressive, dive-bombing crows.
Sara Dubois with the B-C S-P-C-A says it's nesting season and that means crows will be on the lookout for people that might threatening their newly- hatched babies. Rather than call them aggressive birds...
"I would call it protective. I think any parent is trying to ensure their young survive during that really delicate stage of their life. They are just trying to warn off any predators, and to them, you look like a predator."
Dubois says the best way to avoid becoming a target is to stay away from areas where crows like to nest.
In cases where it's not possible, wearing a hat or carrying an umbrella can come in handy.
