Victoria's fastest growing parade is starting an hour earlier because of its popularity.
Organizers say the Pride Parade scheduled for Sunday will start at 11:00 am.
“Because it’s getting larger and larger, we have more and more people who want to participate and more people that want to view the parade and in order to make sure everyone can enjoy their time at the festival we have to start it earlier.”
Landen Cheetham, spokesperson, Victoria Pride Society says Victoria does it a little bit different than other cities in Canada.
“It’s very unique to Victoria; we don’t see that really in any other city in Canada where everyone joins in so we like to have that big group participation and I think that adds to the feel of the parade as well.”
The parade starts at Pandora Avenue and Government Street and wind its way to MacDonald Park at Oswego and Simcoe streets
Premiers designate John Horgan is one of the dignitaries and politicians expected to make an appearance.
