The short-term rental market in Victoria may be experiencing some changes tonight.
City council is voting on whether single rooms should be allowed to be rented out from principal residences. If approved, more than two rooms would not be allowed to be rented out of a single home.
"This amendment bylaw will affect properties throughout the city where residential use or self-contained dwelling units are currently permitted," the council agenda states.
The change would affect homes zoned as "Schedule D". To check the zoning of a home, go to http://www.victoria.ca/EN/main/online-services/maps.html and use the search function to find a specific address.
