A video circulating the Internet of a cyclist throwing his own feces at the windshield of a vehicle has sparked an investigation by Victoria Police.
The cyclist and vehicle were involved in a collision on the corner of Cook street and Yates street on Saturday, and the altercation quickly escalated in a disgusting manner.
The incident was captured on video by Joshua Loftus, a salesman at Pacific Mazda, which he has since shared on Facebook and Reddit.
Loftus says he didn't see the collision, but saw the aftermath. He says he was standing outside, waiting to greet customers, when he saw the cyclist whip open the car door during the confrontation. "I thought in my head 'Well maybe I should get my camera out, because this might be something.' And right as I thought that, the dude closes the car door, takes a step back, pulls down his pants, you see full, bare, you-know-what. He crouches down right next to the car, and within ten seconds, he had completely relieved himself. Bent down, scooped up his relief, and threw it directly from two feet right into the windshield of the car." He adds that the cyclist also smashed one of the car's turn signals before getting on his bike and riding away.
Victoria Police were called by multiple bystanders, who also took pictures and videos.
Constable Matt Rutherford with the Victoria Police Department, says this is a rare scenario, but the driver of the vehicle and the bystanders did the right thing. "The driver of the vehicle remained in the vehicle, locked her door, closed her windows. And several bystanders were able to assist by calling 911, getting pictures of the suspect as well as filming the incident. So people are just encouraged to call us as soon as possible, and we can come and do our jobs and hopefully arrest the bad guy."
The investigation is ongoing, andVic PD says the suspect will likely be charged with mischief.
Vic PD is asking anyone with information on the incident or the suspect to call them at 250-995-7654, or report it to Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
