Vancouver Island University has been hit with a human rights complaint -- and it was filed by its former director of human rights and workplace safety who believes she was fired for her investigation.
Katrin Roth is alleging the Nanaimo university failed to protect professors, staff and students who felt threatened by a male student's sexual fetishes.
The 40-year-old man has a fetish for wearing diapers, speaking in baby talk, asking the nurse practitioner at the university to change his dirty diaper, and having women read him children's stories -- something called "infantalism".
And Roth says that's not all:
"He was observed leering, particularly at the chest area. He would ask staff members out repeatedly on date. He followed one female staff member onto the rooftop gardens, which is an isolated staff only area."
Roth has filed a 105-page document with the BC Human Rights Tribunal detailing the man's activities dating back to 2015.
VIU maintains it took appropriate steps and will defend their position in any court of law.
